| State Titles at Redbank Plains |
| This years titles were held at Redbank Plains and the
Sunny Coast turned up for some great games. Most of our junior teams either
won or were runners up. Some great skills were displayed and the
sportsmanship that was displayed was nothing short of brilliant. The one
thing that shone this weekend is team play and some of the coaching was
great. In the under 14s two of our players from the Swordfish have been
named to play for QLD at the National titles in Perth in October. Well done
to Josh and Keaton these two players totally deserve to be there and they
have displayed some great skills not only at club level but rep as well.
Good luck to both players at the Nationals this year. A special mention to
all our players that played this weekend well done guys. Some of our juniors
were also named in Merit teams. Jackson and Madison were both named in these
teams as well. These up and coming players are players to watch in the
future. Once again we would like to thank the Qcsa for holding a fantastic
carnival and we all look forward to next years titles on the Sunshine Coast.
Go Sunny Coast. Thank you to all the devoted parents for all the training
and time you have put in to help these children reach this level. We are
sure its been very worth while. In senior news just in we have two more
players to fly the flag for Buderim in QLD colours well done to Miss Kate
Deighton and Mr. Declan Passlow . Both Kate and Declan will make our club
proud so well done guys . |
| Well what a fantastic tournament and once again the
Sunshine Coast did extremely well. Well done to all all that helped and a
special mention has to go to Mick Ruddock for the fields well done champion.
Our club would like to thank all the referees that helped as well. Well done
to all the Brisbane clubs that came up for the weekend .
This tournament has seen some great talent across QLD and some to
remember once again Our Miss Kate Deighton made the cut in our senior
women's team. Well done also to Conner Passlow in our senior Men's team.
Conner is playing in The under 16 squad. Good luck. A total of 21 players
will play for Qld at the nationals in Newcastle in October. Well done
champions. |
| Well what a great weekend and to see so many Sunshine
Coast players on display was a great thing. Our teams from under ten to
under 14 were outstanding with all teams in finals or winners. Our under 14
team just missing the medal. Once again we want to thank all the devoted
parents that take the time out to attend these carnivals. Well done. Two of
our players were selected to play for QLD. Miss Gemma Layfield and Mr Nick
Howarth well done on a great effort. Both of these players are a great
example of our club. To get to that level is great. And to play at the
nationals at your home ground is a first for both of your soccer careers. A
special mention goes to Mr Callum Krstic he was named in a Qld merit squad
his age group is not in selection age group but im sure next year he is a
player to watch. A special mention to all the organizers from the QCSA for a
great job and we as the Sunshine Coast would like to thank all involved. Not
sure about the helicopter arrival from some of our parents but that's a
first in Churches soccer as far as we have seen. More news to come from the
senior teams so stay tuned . |
